Day 2: Ouidah

Slavery port and City of repentance, the city of Ouidah is known for the main role it played in the slave trade during the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, when nearly a million black people were deported to the New World. The center of the slave trade, Ouidah is also a religious city where traditional religions and Catholicism coexist.

Day 3: OuidahFestival WALE - Ganvié

Located 18 km north of Cotonou, Ganvié, the Venice of Africa is a lakeside city, which has a few thousands wooden houses, built on piles: they are a marvel and have a special charm. We will discover the daily life of the inhabitants (around 30000) on pirogues, the floating market, the traditional fishing scenes, souvenir shops, crafts, bars, etc.
Ganvié is the most important lake city of West Africa.

Day 4: Ouidah - Abomey –

Ouidah Former capital of the kingdom of Dahomey, Abomey is a high place in the history of Benin. It was founded in the 16th century by King HOUEGBADJA. It is the city of the most powerful Kings of the Kingdoms of Dahomey including King BEHANZIN. The city has a royal historical museum from his glorious past, where multiple memories and remains of incomparable value are preserved.

Day 9: Ouidah - Porto-Novo

Porto-Novo, an old historic city on the edge of the Ouémé, is the capital of Benin. This name comes from the Portuguese colonists. Porto-Novo is home to an Ethnographic Museum, the former Governor's Palace and the Royal Palace, officially known as the Honmè Museum, which was once the palace of the Kings Toffa, who first established the links between Benin and France. Like Cotonou, it is full of many markets including that of Ouando which now supplants the large market of Porto-Novo.

Day 10: Ouidah – Sè

(The pottery plays a very important role in vodoun worship)

-Departure for Ouidah

-Ceremony of purification

-Dinner and overnight stay

Day 11 : Ouidah
